"Like so many others, after having my daughter, I found it hard to lose the baby weight.  So in February of 2014, my friend, Katie and I decided to give Crossfit Jeannette a try.  I was nervous at first and slightly intimidated, but the trainers were so welcoming and encouraging.  Barb and Dave are extremely knowledgeable and motivational.  Their easy going, friendly personalities create a fun, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.  I can't thank them enough for inspiring me and keeping me motivated throughout this fitness journey.   The entire Crossfit Jeannette family is so supportive and friendly.   Over the last year, I have lost around 25 lbs and have never felt  stronger or healthier in my life. I work out 6 days a week and look forward to it each day. "

"I started my Crossfit journey over a year ago.  Who would have thought that this is where I would be to achieve my fitness goals?  You see, I am not the skinnest,  the fastest, nor the strongest.  That is why it has always been hard to put myself out there in any situation that I am not comfortable in and especially one where I don't know what I am doing.  The coaches took that anxiety away with their kindness, support and motivation no matter what my fitness level was.  Since I started at CrossFit Jeannette I have dropped 70  pounds by working out just 3-4 times a week.  I thank the coaches so much for helping me out.   As they say, if it were easy, every body would do it.  I love the challenge that CrossFit brings so I am doing it!"

"Crossfit changed my life. The obvious can be stated, CrossFit WILL make you look better.  Although I did not have much weight to lose, the toning of my body and muscle that I have gained has been tremendous and easily maintained without the dreaded word "diet."  CrossFit is not just lifting heavy weights or doing crazy amounts of cardio.  It incorporates all different movements into one great workout, that guarantees results.

I started CrossFit 2 years ago. Not knowing what to expect, I quickly became addicted to it.  The drive to want to "rx" a workout quickly became a goal to work towards. The clock ticking not only taught me to pace myself so that I can get through the last of whatever it may be I am doing, but also has taught me to balance other things in my life.  At first I was loyal to 3-4 days a week.  I quickly started to see results so I slowly started to work towards 5-6 days a week.  Thats how much I enjoy it.  The fun of it is the changing of a workout, basically never doing the same workout twice, gives me something to look forward to and makes it fun.  Going in and knowing that my workout is planned and that I have an amazing coach there to support and teach is key.  Dave and Barb have had a tremendous impact on my life and are so supportive. Not to mention all the wonderful people that I have met and the support that we all give to each other is so good for the soul.  I have also been inspired to focus on good nutrition with all my hard work.  Once again, total life changing.  Working hard, loving something, and seeing results, makes you not want to fuel yourself with garbage.
At 35 years old I am currently stronger then ever and in the best shape I have ever been in.

CrossFit has helped me discover that I can be stronger than I thought and that working out can be a lot different than you think.  I am hoping to become Level 1 certified in the coming year; something that I never would have thought I would be working towards."

"My father signed me up for his local gym when I was 12;  I stayed with it until my mid 20’s.  The drive to lift and keep healthy for me was high school sports and recreational sports after high school.  When I stopped playing sports I lost my motivation to stay in shape.  That and the desk job I began working slowly but surely added 60 lbs to my frame, and not in a good way.  At age 43 I stepped on the scale to see my new weight had increased to 275 lbs.  (I was 215 lbs. when I graduated high school)  So I tried what most people try, hopped on the treadmill and started back with my lifting routine.  The drive was not there to push myself hard enough to make a difference.  I lost a couple of pounds but I eventually got bored of the same old workouts.

Some folks I work with were taking beginners CrossFit class and they peaked my interest enough for me to sign up for a month to check it out.  Wow!  I really had no idea how much I had really let myself go.  Along with the weight I gained I had lost a lot of muscle and strength.  I was having trouble just finishing the workouts.  A great thing about the CrossFit program is that it can be scaled down to all levels from beginner to advanced.   Coaches Dave and Barb worked with me on technique for each exercise.  They also helped to find the proper scaling for each workout so that I was able to work at my level but also push myself to do a little more each day.  I think that is what keeps a lot of people from trying CrossFit.  They see the You-tube videos and think they have to be in tip top shape to walk in the door.  That is definitely not the case.

I am now a year and a half in and I have totally changed my body composition.  I am down 35lbs.  While this may not seem like much,  I have added a lot of lean muscle and lowered my BMI.  I dropped a shirt size and pant size.  I love the fact that I don’t know the workout until I walk in the door each day.  It keeps it fresh for me and forces me to do the exercises I need but wouldn’t do on my own.  The people and coaches are very supportive for people of all levels.  I would recommend CrossFit Jeannette to anyone who wants to transform their body. "At first, I was skeptical about trying Crossfit because I'd heard it was really tough and I'd been jaded from having tried several other exercise programs in an attempt to whip myself into shape. However, after the first few workouts, I found I really enjoyed it. Not only can I scale the weight down to suit what I'm able to do, but the instructors are there to help me with my technique so I don't hurt myself. Another aspect I really like is that the workouts are always different, so it easily keeps my interest. Also, if anyone is struggling through a workout, we cheer each other on, and sometimes just that encouragement is all it takes to really push through and finish a workout strong. It's been over a year and I still love going to Crossfit several times each week! I feel stronger and more fit than I've felt in a long time!"
